Well, I survived 2 days with a 4 year and a 3 year old. We spent the Friday night catching lighting bugs, then it was inside to watch the Backyardians, Veggie Tails, and Clifford the Big Red Dog. I fell asleep before they did.
Saturday morning we were outside playing in the sunshine. Riding bikes, taking walks, stopping to pick berries from the trees. Mercy found a grasshopper to add to their bug collection. This girly girl loves bugs. While JT took a nap, Mercy and I put on make-up. Soon it was time to take them to their new home.
They were so excited to give us the grand tour. They have so much room to roam and explore. A two story home with a basement and a yard with a sand pit to play in. Thankfully, they were to busy when we were ready to leave, they didn't cry to come home with us.

JT and Kelly close on their house today. With so much to do, I offered to let the kids spend the night with me.
So after work I will meet Kelly half way to "make the drop". Two little kids delivered to their grandma.
Mercy called me last night to inform me that I will not have to miss her any longer because she is coming to my house to spend the night. She had to tell me that she had been drinking milk and coughed and it came out her nose. Her reaction to this was "Grandma, it was so awesome!".
We are going to have some fun times this weekend. By Monday I should be exhausted and ready to return to work.

SAME QUESTION

I received another call from Mercy last night. I think she is stuck in repeat mode.
Grandma, I want to know how many days until I can spend the night???
And to think I couldn't wait until this child could talk......

NEXT TRIP

The count down as begun. My company, Peoplelink, sent the top 20 offices to Cancun last April. Next year it will be Puerto Vallarta. Spouses are included. So far for the year, we have been #1 in the company. Can we hold onto that top spot? I am looking forward to the relaxation. It helps to know I don't have to pay for anything.

BUSY WEEKEND

After the birthday party Saturday evening, we had another party on Sunday. My cousin's son Eric graudation party was at their home in North Liberty. We were lucky the rain held off for as long as it did. As you can see in this picture there was some sunshine. We had a nice time. I always enjoy sitting around eating and chatting with family. He is off to Ball State this fall. It is hard to believe he is old enough for college.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Cake and pizza, what a combo!! JT's birthday party was this past Saturday at 5 pm at Chuckie Cheese. He is grandma's little sweetheart. He played all the games, rode the little cars, climbed into the slide tubes. He was having a great time. Papa and Me-mom gave him a scooter for his birthday. He loved it. I love this picture, he looks like a angel.

Grandma's girl

I get a call lst Monday at work. This little voice says, "grandma, can you spend the night with me?". Of course I chuckled a bit and explained that Grandma has to work and I can't spend the night. She then wanted to come to my house. Again, the Grandma has to work conversation took place. I get a call last night wanting to know when she can spend the night because as she put it, "I have been waiting a LONG time." Wish I was retired so I could stay home and enjoy them more often.

The "BIG" 3

It is difficult to believe this darling little boy is 3 years old. He is growing up before my eyes. He has mastered the potty training (much to everyone's relief), no more changing stinky pants. He goes to "school" (daycare) and loves it. Thomas the Trian is his favorite toy. I think he is going to be a computer guru, or a movie critic. He loves his DVD's. He is grandma's pride & joy.

This is a picture of Sgt. Lee's medals from his service in the Iraq war. My husband took the picture sideways. This was my birthday gift to him this year. I had them mounted and put in a shadow box for him to display in his Marine room at his new home. Hopefully they won't get lost this way.

Saturday night Grandma babysat so Mom & Dad could go see the new Indiana Jones movie. The kids could have cared less, they were getting to stay at Grandma's. They are getting to the point where they hate to pose for the camera. I get these silly little grins, but their eyes do NOT turn away from the TV, or stop eating cake.

Firefighter

It is difficult to believe JT has been a firefighter for 1 year. 8 years as a Marine are now completed. I have so much pride in him. No mother could have asked for a better son. Sometimes I wonder how I became so lucky to have been able to raise a kid, and keep him out of trouble. JT and Kelly have just purchased their 1st home and move in a couple of weeks. No more calling the landlord when something breaks.

I always wanted a son when I was pregnant. That was exactly what I received. Now I have this girly girl granddaughter, and I have discovered that I enjoy buying pink girl's stuff. My grandson is the sweetest boy to ever grace my life. I am very lucky to be able to spoil them.
